Buyers Assistant (Maternity Cover)

Covering the Fresh produce and Horticulture areas.

 
 

The purpose of this role is to actively manage and provide administrative support to Buyers in the Trading function, therefore enabling and supporting the profitability of the business.

 

Accountabilities:

 

1. To lead by example in delivering a high level of customer service through our warm northern welcome to every customer, internal and external each and every time.

2. To demonstrate and embed within your team all of the characteristics of Booths outlined in the Company Purpose.

3. To always work in a positive, customer focused way. Support your team in looking for new opportunities to consistently deliver the best operation to maintain a culture of continuous improvement.

4. To be an active member of the buying team ensuring that support and co-operation is given to other members to assist in the achievement of departmental objectives.

5. To ensure activity undertaken ultimately contributes to internal and external customer satisfaction.

6. To manage designated short-term projects as determined by the Buyers and the Buying Admin Manager.

7. To achieve and maintain professional standards across all aspects of this role in respect of work undertaken, timescales adhered to and dealings with employees at all levels of the business in a manner appropriate to their needs.

8. To manage Buyers’ diaries to ensure supplier meetings take place at appropriate intervals and support the Buyers in preparation for the meetings. To attend suppler meetings when needed.

9. To respond effectively to telephone and written supplier queries.

10. To co-ordinate product tastings when needed/ attend range reviews/ ensure product details are accurately updated on all buying systems including listings of new products.

11. To co-ordinate the administration of data entry for all products into Booths systems and maintain the product database; update buying systems with agreed price changes/ administer the weekly price reconciliation report for Buyers.

12. To ensure the Daily updates to stores have all relevant information from Buyers/ maintain filing/ provide other general admin tasks to support Buyers.
