The purpose of this role is to assist with the effective management of activities across sites. To co-ordinate daily deliveries of ambient, fresh foods and produce, ensuring time schedules are maintained.

Additional Information

Transport Supervisor, nights

• Five 8 hour shifts between Monday to Saturday, working every other Saturday, Off Sunday nights.
• Working hours 21:00 to 05:30
• 38.75 hour pw contract, £15.81 per hour plus £12.75 allowance per night, overtime paid at time and half after 39 hours.

• Previous supervisory or management experience in Transport industry desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible and accountable for all activities within Transport Department, ensuring all key activities are conducted in a safe, secure and effective manner. To manage the operation in the absence of the Transport Manager. Whilst ensuring the department remains cost effective.
• Supervise a team of 15 drivers on the road delivering to own stores, de-brief drivers.
• Supervise a team of 5 loaders and recycling processing staff.
• Report to Transport Manager
• To be responsible for the daily management of team members, maintaining a high standard of communication through team briefings, colleague reviews and one to one conversations.
• To support the management team and at times lead on people management/ HR issues.
